Hyperbaric Welding Center

For employers & contractors: qualify your dive crew

Diving contractors, marine and civil contractors, EPCs and asset owners use the Hyperbaric Welding Center to get welder-divers formally qualified — and to keep them qualified. One address for training, welder qualification (LK) and welding procedure qualification (LMK), examined under the DNV flag.

What we offer companies

Group bookings and company-focused scheduling

Book the course for a complete crew and align the course dates with your project and personnel planning. Training is delivered in Dutch or English at our campus in Enkhuizen.

Welder qualifications (LK)

We organise qualification tests for welder-divers to EN ISO 15618-1 and AWS D3.6M. The tests are assessed by authorised examiners and certified by DNV. This gives the company the personal qualifications on which project documentation can be based.

Welding procedure qualifications (LMK/WPQR)

We guide and organise the qualification of hyperbaric welding procedures at company level. This demonstrates that the welding procedure applied can deliver the required weld quality under the qualified conditions.

Continuity and requalification planning

Welder qualifications have a limited period of validity and require periodic confirmation of continuity. We help companies with a clear schedule of confirmations and requalifications, so the crew’s qualifications are kept valid in good time.

Admission assessment of foreign diving qualifications

Does your crew work with HSE, ADAS, DCBC or other national professional diving qualifications? We assess in advance, on an individual basis, whether the training, experience and competences meet the admission requirements of the relevant programme. Any formal recognition or equivalence remains subject to the applicable Dutch rules and competent authorities.

Oil & gas, offshore and the Gulf region

Offshore and oil and gas projects call for demonstrably qualified professionals and controlled welding processes. Project specifications and codes, such as DNV-ST-F101 and API 1104, set requirements for the qualification of welders and welding procedures. Where the project requires it, these qualifications are additionally reviewed or witnessed by the client, operator, independent verifier or classification society.

Contractors bidding on inspection, repair and maintenance projects therefore need welder-divers who are not only practically competent, but who also hold correct, up-to-date and fully traceable qualification documentation.

The Hyperbaric Welding Center trains and qualifies complete crews for exactly that foundation. We support Dutch and international companies, including organisations active in the Middle East, the offshore industry and other international markets.

Training is delivered in English or Dutch at our campus in Enkhuizen, about an hour’s drive from Schiphol Airport. For group bookings we coordinate the course schedule, travel, accommodation options and alignment with offshore and work rotations with the company.

We provide and organise:

Project-specific approval of the procedure, additional witnessing and any class approval remain separate, project-bound steps. These are coordinated between the executing company, the client or operator and the relevant classification society or independent verifier.
